Celebrating 10 Years in Walt Disney World

In November 2023, me and my wife took a trip to Disney World to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Naturally, I took a zillion photos and I wanted to share some of my favorites.

When taking travel photos, I'm not precious about things. If I see something interesting, I'll snap a photo. To keep the trip pleasant for everyone, I won't sit around a wait for specific shots.

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is always the first park we visit when going to Disney World. It just gives those classic Disney vibes that we love.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

During Christmas time, Disney will host a special event called Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom. You have to buy a separate ticket for it, but I think it's worth the price.

During the event there will be special shows, parades, Christmas treats, and they make it snow on Main Street.

Once the event official kicks off, it starts to snow on Main Street.

There are many good spots to watch the parade, but I prefer being on Main Street. The backdrop as the characters are coming through is so nice, especially with the snow.

As it gets later, the park starts to empty out. I love just hanging around Main Street taking pictures.

Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is probably the most unique park at Disney World, and I weirdly find it hard to photograph. Specifically, the Tree of Life in the center of the park. I have so many photos of it, but none that I really love.

Dinoland USA is likely going away in the near future. I don't know exactly what's going to replace it, but I spent a little extra time capturing some of the details there before it's gone.

I think I love the Africa area the most in Animal Kingdom. There is just sooo much detail everywhere you look. Also, that's where you can get on the Safari.

Epcot

Nothing gives me the Disney feels like Magic Kingdom, but Epcot might be my favorite park. I love the retro-futuristic decor, Spaceship Earth, The Land, and walking around the countries. Also, Epcot has some of the best food and drinks you can get in Disney World parks.

Moana's Journey of Water

This was our first time seeing Moana's Journey of Water and it's awesome. It's basically a walk-through garden/water show. Very unique and fun.

Spaceship Earth

Also known as "the golf ball", Spaceship Earth is so much fun to take photos of. Especially at night.

Some Random Shots

Hollywood Studios

From a "vibes" perspective, Hollywood Studios is a close runner-up to Magic Kingdom. This park is super fun.

This park really comes alive at night time. SOOO many neon signs.

Galaxy's Edge (Star Wars)

I know this is technically inside of Hollywood Studios, but I took so many photos here that it deserves its own section.

Thoughts on the Camera Gear

The combo of a 35mm and 50mm lens was pretty nice. I mostly used the 35mm, but it was nice to have a few days with the 50mm. When going out for the day, I would just take one lens with me and use it for everything. That way I wasn't thinking about changing lenses all day.

After this trip, I ended up selling the Sony A7c II and sticking with my A7IV. The A7C II is amazing, but I prefer the ergonomics and dual card slots of the A7IV.
